I recently took my team on an incredible journey through Ayrshire and Scotland, seeking out fairies and magical destinations. From the stunning landscapes of Arran and the gems of the Arran Library to breathtaking waterfalls and lively meet-ups around Ayrshire, this trip was nothing short of enchanting. As someone with autism and ADHD, I often find busy places and crowded situations quite overwhelming. However, I pushed through those challenges with the amazing support of my fans and the TikTok community, who inspired me every step of the way. I'm truly excited for everyone to read about this adventure and meet the unique characters that came to life through this experience!

As a mum recently diagnosed with ADHD and a bit further along in life, a friend gifted me this book and suggested I check out James’s story. Reading it felt like he was inside my head. I’ve always thought quickly, but this is the first time I’ve found a book that matched that pace. Bravo, James, brilliant read and for sharing your journey with the world. Many people will be truly grateful for it. I've recommended this book to others already and can’t wait to explore your other works!
Just finished reading and what a joy to read it was 🤩.
Although I am an adult reader, the front cover draws you to pick this book up and the magic within the pages was well matched to the cover. I loved all the Ayrshire reference's within the chapters. It’s the kind of read that has your mind painting the pictures from imagination as you read. Very well done and you won’t be disappointed if you decide to purchase 🤩.
I struggle to concentrate and focus on fiction books, but When Fairies Stole the Sky is different. The book is so fast paced that you feel part of the adventure. You don't want to put it down as James drags you through his world of fantasy, reality and Ayrshire. Brilliant!
We read When Fairies Stole the Sky in small chunks because my boy needs time to process. It gave us space to talk and sit with it.
He doesn’t naturally lean into imagination, that’s just how his wee autistic brain works, but this book? It switched something on! He was asking to pick it back up. That doesn’t happen often! It’s colourful, fast, vivid… the kind of story that fills your head with pictures. Thank you for our special time together and for opening up his imagination ❤️
I've just finished reading your book, "When Fairies Stole the Sky," and I absolutely loved it!
Your writing connects with me on so many levels; it feels like you think like I do. The pace is perfect for me as a
neurodivergent reader-I couldn't put it down! It's a delightful children's book that offers magic for both kids and adults, which is exactly what the world needs right now. I hope to see more neurodivergent writers like you.
Looking forward to your other books! Thank you, James!
